I start work tomorrow... a little nervous, mainly cos i'm not sure what will be expected of me, usually when you say you can do such and such on your CV it doesnt matter too much if you cant, however when the person putting you to the test is Noel Gallagher... *packs hard hat* Hopefully should be good, have Victoria Wood on monday and tuesday too :)

Southern Comfort [22 Nov 2006|09:08pm]
Got back from Oxford on Monday, had a fairly good weekend, slept far too much for which i blame Samwise, that said i didnt get up til twenty past three today... clearly i need a proper job. I'll be honest i didnt really wanna go this weekend and so i was pleasantly surprised when i had a good time, there was only one major "nose, looking down" incident and i took the high road by not breaking said nose :) and met quite a few really fun guys, however i had gone down with my "Flirt Phasers" on kill only to find out it was a male dinner so no girlies... :( Nevermind. Whupped Sam's ass at cards ending the weekend with a 12 - 8 victory, not as good as the 7-1 lead i had but i had to Sam win a few so he couldnt accuse me of cheating. That said he beat me at pool and table tennis, but i had the moral victory. New game, Settlers of Catan was fun although i would hae developed it into something far more complex, but that's what i do. Anyway, it was good fun, now of course it's Sam's turn to visit. :P

Good Afternoon Class [09 Nov 2006|01:25am]
I turned 22 today, its just a number i suppose but worthy of Lj post, maybe. Feeling a little better although still distant from the real world and that is a little disorientating. Novel has clocked up to a respectable 123,500 words with the re-write of chapter 11 now underway. The first of my "Bachelors" scripts is finished however i'm not overly happy with the style or the format of the show, think i'll get a second opinion and a re-write before submitting it to the BBC. Also my second script project, VISE, a distopian drama series set in a future where much of the human populous has been wiped out is in dire need of a second draft however my research into Hacker Speak is coming on well, i particularly like ACK and the Airplane Rule (i'm still on A). Also i now have Farscape season 3 (w00t!) very happy about that. The price tags for the other season are high but to be fair if the boxes and artwork are as nice as season 3 they are probably worth it :) Now all i need is my little buddy Sam to come home and enjoy it with me. Miss talking to that little hobbit and wupping his ass at risk (mainly cos it's just too easy... afterall little Ruthy beat him! :)) Also have a new edition of Risk i dont think he has played yet :) Oh well, time to get back to the greatest sci fi ever made... See you all soon, lotsa love Chris x

Double Bill [26 Oct 2006|07:28pm]
Just thought i would share my thoughts on my last two cinema visits...

World Trade Centre was excellent. I wouldnt go and see it twoce but it was exceptionally well done. What i loved about it was how they avoided all the pitfalls i thought they would make. There were no cg plane crashes and no american flag waving and even Nicolas Cage's voice wasnt annoying. The film is definately very moving and if, like me, you werent really affected by the tragedy of the incident you will find yourself revisiting your thoughts and feelings, it definately changed my mind. Go and see it. Truely excellent.

Barnyard, for those of us who love animation :) The trailer for this film does it no justice what so ever. They picked on one of the worst parts of the film to show and as such i feel it may suffer at the box office. However this film is fantasic, its is pretty much consistantly funny from start to finish with a fair amount of adult humour and Danny GLover's character is just hilarious. If that isnt enough for you the animation is some of the best i have seen and i dont particularly like that style but it is very very well done. Again, go and see it, but maybe kidnap a kid first just so you dont look too sad... :)

Next films i see will most likely be Flushed Away and Bond (which is not a bond film in any way) Til next time friends :) Chris x

Just One Click [08 Oct 2006|10:38pm]

So last night went to the cinema and saw Adam Sandler's new film Click and to be honest i went with the apprehension of it being crap. I've seen quite a few of Mr. Sandler's efforts, the Waterboy, Mr. Deeds and Anger Management and while they have their moments they can also end up being quite strained, the most obvious example of which i think is Anger Management. So with suitably low expectations and worries that Dave wouldnt enjoy the film because he seemed highly disenthused with the choice and had complained that he should have been at home working i sat down to watch and i was pleasantly surprised. There were some moments of very very funny comedy and some moments of the infantile "fart joke" humour we have come to expect from Mr. Sandler however the whole thing was pleasantly funny throughout until the final few moments of the show where everybody begins to feel the emotions and the whole thing is quite sad.

A moral tale told well with a good cast, very happy, even if it did cost me £5.50. And if you need any more incouragement to see the film than that i'll leave you with the words of Si. "It has the Hoff, what more could you want!?" Oh and just so you know, Dave loved the film so i needn't have worried.

[04 Oct 2006|01:56am]
We came 2nd to last this week, a poor show considering only ten teams took part however 34/50 is respectable and two more points would have put in thrid (so that shows how close it was.) Jenny joined us this week which was really nice. So even four players down we managed a respectable 5 players and got a mention off the DJ as being a usually high achieving team. However what we really need is your help to get our team back on the winning track. We need a sportsman to replace the knowledgable Keppe and someone with a bad taste in popular music to fill the gaping hole in our team strategy and as a little incentive we won the chocolates this week which will be shared out amongst next weeks team members.. cant say i never give you nothing. Hope to see people next week.. Thanks for reading, Chris x

How can Rio Ferdinand saying the word Faggot be worthy of news when stuff like this is going on around the world!

I failed to see the latin influence i'm afraid... but today is the first time i have heard Mr. D'Burgh in years... forgot how good the opening to that album is. Grub was ok, kinda made up for those poor excuses for charity shops... Oh and aparently Glossop has hills... you dont say mum! And isnt it weird how much you can like someone you dont even know?

Children of Men [26 Sep 2006|12:51am]

It is one of those films that you should see, one of those films you know people will talk about years from now and if you havent seen it all you will be able to do is scoff politely until you are asked if you saw it before turning red and having a sudden urge for the loo. However Children of Men is not a film i would recommend, while not as bad as some films such as Last Action Hero or On Her Majesties Secret Service it is a "See Once Only and Dont Buy on DVD" film. The setting was good and even the acting was in parts however the plot was weak and unegaging, i didnt feel attached to any of the characters nor cared about what might happen to them, with the exception maybe of Julianne Moore and Micheal Cain. The only moments of light relief were the bits with Stan and they just werent enough. Add to that WEAK script writing and an opening that leaves you confused for about half an hour and if you are anything like me your mind will already have wandered. So if you wanna go and see it so you dont feel left out at parties then be my guest if not go and rent Pirates of the Carribean, you'll get better value for money...

Ok... You are lying in bed, you're fairly sure you are awake, then you look down at your T-shirt to find two wet patches, with a hole in the centre of each, with no explanation of how they got there... How scary is that?

Added Later...

Ok now i can hear a male voice in the bathroom with no body to accompany it, footsteps downstairs and doors banging... and i just heard a scream... i'm sllghtly freaked
